We hope you are all well and enjoying a lovely summer.
This time of year is always very special at the Nicolas Robinson School as we celebrate the end of another school year and the graduation of many of our students.
This year our kindergarten class dressed up in their gowns to graduate to primary school. Meanwhile, grade 12 students, who have just completed their national exams, looked very elegant young adults as they received their certificates. They will learn their final scores and their placements (university and subject) during September. We are very grateful to the Zurich International School which kindly provided these graduation gowns used by their past students and they are now used and re-used for each graduation ceremony at the Nicolas Robinson School.
Our students put on an excellent show of drama, singing and dancing, and the kindergarten children treated us to their own version of “Ethiopia’s got Talent” which was superb and had all of the audience laughing and set the happy mood of the day.
The graduation ceremony started with a rendition of the Ethiopian national anthem with recorders and a smart, well-presented march all done by our new Scout troop (boys and girls).
If anyone is in the scout movement and would like to partner and support our new club at the school, please do let us know by writing to us at firstname.lastname@example.org
The day before graduation, many of the older students demonstrated their skills in IT, science, and art. They presented their work to parents and visitors in English and in Tigrinia with confidence and we were very proud of them all.
There is such a lot going on at this time of year at the School, we will send out another update, later in the year with more news.
In the meantime we thank you for the great support and wish you a wonderful summer.
